WAKE-UP CALL FOR PAMELA ANDERSON FANS

For years Baywatch fans thought they could only dream of waking up to Pamela Anderson's purring voice. But now, it seems, their fantasies are just a phone-call away.

Because the inimitable Pammy has signed up to take part in a new wake-up service, which offers customers the chance to be roused from their beds by her dulcet tones.

For the price of around £5 per month, Celebrity Wakeup will call subscribers each morning, rousing them with a recorded message from their favourite celeb. "Hi, it's Pamela," whispers the message from the legendary blonde bombshell. "I love animals, they're fuzzy, cute and fun to play with. How about getting down on your knees and barking like a dog. Now get your fuzzy ass out of bed and get my slippers. Have a great day, you animal!"

While instructions to fetch footwear and impersonate animals may not be every early riser's cup of tea, the company offering the service is confident the idea will be a success. Celebrity Wakeup was set up in partnership between the William Morris talent agency and communications firm IDT.

Pamela is the first big name to sign up for the new venture, which is being offered to American consumers fed up with raucous alarm clocks. "I wanted to launch Celebrity Wakeup with a voice the world would want to wake up to," said founder J R Getches.
