Renowned author Salman Rushdie has proven that literature isn't his only talent, by strutting his stuff on a London dancefloor.
The 56-year-old author was attending a fundraising event at the Serpentine Gallery along with his beautiful partner, actress Padma Lakshmi.
Salman seemed set on a relaxed evening of mingling with other members of polite London society, but his 32-year-old girlfriend had other plans. When the inimitable chords of Sophie Ellis Bextor's Murder On The Dancefloor came booming out of the sound system, Padma led her man out for a serious bop. And by the looks of things, he may have learned a few tricks from John Travolta.
The couple's dancefloor duet would seem to quash rumours that they had broken up. Earlier in the year the pair wrote a letter to a national newspaper denying a split, after persistent reports to the contrary.
And their display at the Serpentine left other revellers, who included Terence Conran, Mariella Frostrup and Jemima Kham, in little doubt that they are very much an item.
