Soccer star David Beckham has been missing the comforts of home as he tours the Far East with his new Real Madrid team-mates. The England skipper has revealed he can't wait to get back to his wife and kids. "Do I miss Victoria and the boys? Do I call home?" he asked rhetorically. "Only about 20 times a day."
"I miss my family. It can upset me at times when I'm away for a long time with the club like this. I love listening to Victoria's voice and learning what Brooklyn has been doing and what Romeo's up to. This trip I've really missed all of them."
And that's not all the England skipper has been pining for, as he's also been longing for the comfort of English home cooking. "What I'm going to miss, apart from my family, until we get settled in Spain, is pie, mash and jellied eels."
Becks' comments come just a few weeks before his autobiography My Side hits the shelves. The 28-year-old is promising the book, due to go on sale on September 15, will give the definitive story of his rise to fame, marriage to Victoria and his controversial split with Manchester United. "This will be my first real autobiography," he said. "I'm looking forward to telling my own story, in my own words."
