David Beckham made quite an impression when he arrived for training with his new Real Madrid team-mates in a brand new Porsche. The 911 Targa is his third new motor since he joined the Spanish club, as he has already taken delivery of a luxury Range Rover and a £60,000 Audi A8.
And the Porsche wasn't his only flamboyant purchase, as the England skipper has also splashed out £5,000 on designer underwear. He and his wife ordered 200 items of his and hers undergarments from Milan fashion house Dolce & Gabbana.
"Victoria is an ambassador for D&G in the UK and it is clear she has influenced David in his choice," said an assistant at the firm's flagship boutique in Milan. "While it is an unusually large order, perhaps he wants to stock up for the coming year."
But despite their flair for consumer extravagance, one item on the Beckhams' shopping list continues to elude them. David and Victoria are yet to find a home in Madrid, despite their best house-hunting efforts.
The former Spice Girl viewed a luxurious mansion which bore her name in the exclusive suburb of La Morelaja on Thursday. The aptly-named "La Victoria" boasts 12 bedrooms, a swimming pool, Jacuzzi and a private wine cellar. The 29-year-old said she liked the property, but would have to bring David to see it before any decisions could be made.
