TV presenter Ulrika Jonsson was every inch the glowing bride as she tied the knot with former Army officer Lance Gerrard-Wright at her island home in Sweden on Saturday.
The garden ceremony was as romantic as the couple themselves, with Lance and a barefoot Ulrika, who wore a pearl ankle bracelet to set off her lace Alice Temperley gown, fighting back tears during the heartfelt service. The mother-of-two was walked down the aisle by her son Cameron, eight, in the place of her late father, and her toddler daughter, two-year-old Bo, acted as bridesmaid.
And after tying the knot in front of dozens of friends and family members, the beaming pair met photographers outside the cottage on the island of Varmdo. There, the groom literally swept his new wife off her feet, scooping her into his arms with a grin.
"The wedding was on par with having my children as the best day of my life," said Ulrika after the mid-morning nuptials. "I was teary throughout."
And 35-year-old Lance was equally as thrilled with the momentous occasion. "When you're a young boy growing up, dreaming of your wedding day, you hope it will be the best day of your life," he said. "And it was. I stood under there and felt fantastic. I was very emotional. I needed to dab my eyes."
Thirty-six-year-old Ulrika first met her new husband, a former equerry to the Duke of York, while hosting the romantic game show Mr Right, in which contestants competed for a date with Lance, last autumn. It the TV presenter who caught the bachelor's eye, however, and the two became engaged in May.
