As Victoria Beckham stepped out for her first major social event in Madrid, her date wasn't her star hubby David – it was her mother.
Victoria, dressed in a silver Dolce & Gabbana gown, was accompanied by mum Jackie to the Elle awards, where the fashionable former Spice Girl picked up the International Woman prize. The star, who days ago issued a statement denying rumours of a marital crisis, explained she took her mum with her because she still doesn't know too many people in Madrid.
Victoria also took the opportunity to quash talk that she's not too happy with the prospect of Spanish life. "We like it a lot," she said. "Madrid is exactly how I'd imagined."
Tuesday's Elle event kicked off the beginning of the city's fashion week, La Pasarela Cibeles. The glamorous bash, which featured some of the biggest names in the Spanish world of celebrity, was hosted by red-hot flamenco dancer Rafael Amargo and model Jaydy Mitchell, wife of Latin chart-topper Alejandro Sanz.
