David Beckham is to lend a helping hand to some soccer-mad youngsters, by participating in a Pop-Idol style contest for aspiring footballers.
The new series will give young hopefuls the chance to meet the England captain and win training sessions with a top coach. David has already filmed a 25-minute interview to launch the new show, which will be screened on Children's BBC this Saturday.
“We are very excited to be offering the ultimate football experience and that David Beckham has given CBBC exclusive access to film him in Madrid," said the beeb's Dorothy Prior. “It’s a great opportunity for the competition winners and CBBC viewers to hear from one of the world’s greatest footballers."
Becks has also been getting a masterclass of his own, from one of Spain's sporting heroes, when the footie ace and his wife Victoria turned out to support tennis champ Juan Carlos Ferrero in the Madrid Masters on Wednesday.
The couple were joined by several of Real Madrid's other stars as the Spanish maestro took on South African Wayne Ferreira, staging a dramatic fightback to snatch victory from the verge of defeat.
