Diamond-loving stars like Jennifer Lopez and Missy Elliot are facing a new challenger in the "bling-bling" stakes, after Victoria Beckham stepped out wearing a dazzling new ring.
The former Spice Girl was pictured wearing the enormous diamond confection on a night out in London with her husband David. Apparently she designed the ring, which is thought to be worth around £2 million, herself. Her goal-scoring beau, who is himself something of a diamond aficionado, paid for the piece, however.
"Judging from the lines on the stones it looks like a large emerald-cut diamond surrounded by smaller brilliant stones," said jewellery expert Michael Einhorn. "The main stone is between eight and 15 carats and worth at least £1.5 million. The rest are about 0.5 of a carat each. Victoria and David like the best things money can buy, so I imagine they used the best diamonds to make it."
While Posh may be the new queen of "bling-bling", it seems she'll have a fight on her hands to rule the singles charts. The chanteuse is once again going head-to-head with old rival Sophie Ellis Bextor when she releases her new single.
Three years ago Sophie's Spiller's Groovejet, beat Victoria's Out Of Your Mind to the number one spot. And on December 29 the two pop sirens will once again do battle, as I Won't Change You goes up against Posh's double A-side Let Your Head Go/Don't Disturb The Groove.
