Nearly 18 months after it was announced that Mick Jagger would be receiving a knighthood, the Rolling Stones singer has set a date to pick it up.
The Queen will honour Mick for his services to music on December 10, Buckingham Palace has confirmed. The investiture ceremony had been delayed for a year and a half due to the Rolling Stones' 40th anniversary world tour, which came to an end last month.
Legendary rocker Mick will not be the only A-list name in the spotlight that day, however. England rugby star Jonny Wilkinson will be receiving an MBE as well for services to the world of sport.
The special occasion will come just two days after a London victory parade held honour of England's World Cup champion rugby players. Set for December 8, the celebrations will culminate with an audience with the Queen and a reception with the Prime Minister.
