Harry Potter author JK Rowling has roared to the top of the Richest Women In Britain rankings, earning ten times more than Hollywood's Welsh-born darling Catherine Zeta-Jones.
The Mail On Sunday survey puts the woman behind the magical wizard at number one, commanding an annual paycheck of about £100 million, while Mrs Michael Douglas languishes at number 11, with £10.2 million to show for the year's toil.
JK joins Madonna as the only two high profile names among a slew of businesswomen in the top ten, but some familiar stars from the world of entertainment did manage to make it into the roster of the richest twenty.
In fact, the overwhelming majority of the second ten are stars from the world of TV and music. Rocawear model, former Spice Girl and all-round glamour gal Victoria Beckham finds herself in a three-way-tie for the 20th spot, sharing the honour with both Aussie pop star Kylie Minogue and Ozzy's wife Sharon Osbourne. Frasier star Jane Leeves makes a surprise appearance at 16 thanks to her £7.85 million salary, pipped to the number 15 spot by the Queen.
The monarch is closely followed by singer Dido, whose latest album has brought her both chart success and a hefty £8 million bank account. And rounding out the list is author Jackie Collins, who is comfortably sandwiched between TV presenter Anne Robinson, with £10 million, and Oscar winner Catherine Zeta-Jones – one of ten film actresses in the top 100.
