David Beckham is no stranger to chatting with TV interviewers. But is seems the England skipper will soon be trying his hand at presenting, at a music festival next month in Italy.

The Real Madrid star will make his debut as a presenter at next month's San Remo festival, at which his wife Victoria will be singing. The idea apparently came up when Britain's favourite couple had dinner with designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana in Milan last week.

Italian TV star Simona Ventura, who will be hosting the festival, was also in attendance at the soiree. When she got talking to David and Victoria, the glamorous presenter asked them to help her with her hosting duties. Becks is well-known for his shyness, but apparently he immediately agreed to overcome his nerves and make the appearance.

And it has also been revealed that when the A-list couple are relaxing at home, it is generally Victoria who is feeling fretful. Because her handsome husband has a habit of creeping up behind her and frightening her late at night.

"David has all these little ways of scaring her in the dark," reveals Posh's choreographer Lavelle Smith. "Victoria really likes it. I could tell by the way she was talking about it that she never knows when and where he will pounce."

The former Spice Girl will soon have a safe place to enjoy some peace and quiet, however, as the Beckhams are having a chapel built at their home in Hertfordshire. Builders began work on the ecclesiastical building in the grounds of "Beckingham Palace" three months ago.
