British television personality Jamie Theakston has been hospitalised after falling badly during a skiing holiday. The presenter was knocked unconscious, and had to receive emergency treatment from paramedics, after taking a tumble on the slopes of Val D'Isere in France.

He was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, where he was treated for severe concussion and given a precautionary scan. The 33-year-old, who is dating supermodel Erin O'Connor, was later released, however. "Jamie banged his head as he came down the slopes and was treated in hospital; said his spokesman. "He's a strong lad and it won't be long before he's back on the slopes."

The 6ft 4in star is currently in training for the Channel 4 celebrity challenge The Games. He had decided to take a break with some friends before filming of the series starts next month.

Jamie is expected to be well enough to take part in the show, which will see him facing off against other celebs, including singer Shane Lynch and Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? cheat Charles Ingram.
