Pulses will soon be racing on the wards of Holby City after the popular medical drama signed up a sultry new nurse. Small screen veteran Patsy Kensit has agreed to wave goodbye to her role as man-eater Sadie King in Emmerdale in order to join the staff of Britain's raciest hospital. "She's a talented and popular actress who lights up the screen," said producer Richard Stokes. "Her character is a nurse with a few secrets to hide and an attitude that can't fail to ruffle colleagues' feathers."
Patsy says she loved working on the rural soap, but commuting to the set near Leeds left her with little time to spend with her children James, 12, and Lennon, five. Moving to Holby City will make life a little easier as it is filmed near London, where she and her boys live. "I will really miss all my friends and colleagues at Emmerdale when I leave but look forward to living and working in London full time," she said.
Things aren't looking quite so rosy for her character, though, as bosses on the ITV series have hinted Sadie may come to a sticky end in 2006.
And the road ahead looks equally worrisome for the residents of Coronation Street, as serial killer "Tricky Dicky" Hillman is set to return to Weatherfield. The villainous character, who famously drove into a canal three years ago, will begin a new reign of terror in February next year.
