Two generations of glamorous redheads got to enjoy all the fun of the circus this week as flame-haired model Lily Cole and TV presenter Esther Rantzen, who is currently sporting a flattering auburn bob, took in the opening night of Cirque du Soleil's Alegria.

While Esther was showing off her trim form - honed during last year's appearance on Strictly Come Dancing - in an embroidered jacket in scarlet velvet, accessorized with matching peep-toe pumps, catwalk star Lily had kept things simple in a chic all-black combo.

Other well-known faces enjoying the Royal Albert Hall performance included Orlando Bloom, Helen Mirren, and My Family star Robert Lindsay, who was accompanied by his dancer wife Rosemarie Ford and their children Samuel, Jamie, and Sydney Laura.

An animal-free performance troupe, Cirque du Soleil features clowns, acrobats, contortionists, and other international circus performers in a feast of music, dazzling costumes, and clever special effects.
