British TV star Amanda Holden is said to be "feeling fantastic" after giving birth to her first child at the weekend. The Cutting It actress and her music producer fiancé Chris Hughes were both given reason to celebrate when little Alexa, who will be known as Lexi, made her big debut on Saturday night.
The infant was not due until February, but doctors decided to deliver her by caesarean after a medical problem occurred. Both the actress and her new arrival, who weighed in at 6lb, are said to be doing well, however. "Lexi is absolutely gorgeous," said a spokesman for the 34-year-old. "Amanda and Chris are completely on a high and feeling fantastic."
Having recently finished work on the series Wild At Heart, the proud mum is no doubt looking to some down time as she bonds with her bundle of joy.
Amanda first rose to fame under less salubrious circumstances when her marriage to TV presenter Les Dennis fell apart. She has enjoyed better fortunes in recent years, though, with critical accolades coming her way after she took the lead role in a West End production of Thoroughly Modern Millie. And it would appear her ex is likewise on the road to career success, as he has been signed up to present a new quiz show.
