Charles hails his 'darling wife' at star-studded bash

Prince Charles made a touching tribute to his wife Camilla when he hosted a ceremony to mark the 30th anniversary of his charity organisation. Will Young, Joseph Fiennes and Jade Jagger were among the big names looking on when the first-in-line offered thanks to his "darling wife" for being there to support him at the event.

The glitzy bash was staged to celebrate all those people who have been helped by the Prince's Trust over the past three decades. Charles set up the organisation, which aims to help disadvantaged young people, back in 1976 with his severance pay from the Navy.

And he wasn't the only former Naval officer in attendance, as the unflappable Commander Bond also put in an appearance, in the shape of Pierce Brosnan. The Irish actor is no longer in the employ of Her Majesty's Secret Service, but that didn't stop him making it along to the gathering in London's Theatre Royal on Monday. Like his host, the 007 star is well-known for his commitment to family life and good causes.

When the moment came to address the star-studded gathering, the Prince of Wales called on his guests not to lose faith in young people who appear to have lost their way in life. "I still believe that every young person has some talent or ability and that too many go through life without ever being discovered and unlocked," he explained. "Many of these people are dismissed as youths, 'hoodies' or thugs or whatever, but they are not faceless or nameless."
