It's clearly not such a 'Simple Life' after all for the reality TV show's feuding lovelies Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie, who both appeared to be suffering from pains in the neck when they hit Beverly Hills for a spot of retail therapy on Wednesday.
The former friends – who were out and about separately – approached the problem in different ways. Paris popped in for a full pamper session, flicking through a mag while a masseuse gave her a neck and shoulders rub and another beautician touched up her nails.
Nicole, meanwhile, appeared to collapse under the burden of her own shopping after a brisk session picking out the latest snappy little spring outfits in a chic boutique. The Jimmy Choo model took the weight off her feet by plunking herself down on the floor for a break, and putting her hand to the back of her neck to ease the strain caused by all those bags.
Both girls stood –or sat – firm on one point, though: you don't take your outsize shades off in those brightly-lit shops and salons.
The twosome are due to film another series of The Simple Life, in which they'll take on a household with husband and kids, sometime in the summer. The episodes will be filmed separately because the once inseparable childhood friends drifted apart last year amid talk that Nicole earned less for the series than Paris, and that she was eschewing the party lifestyle her playmate still enjoys.
