With the excitement of this year's World Cup rapidly approaching, two of the England squad's hottest talents have been taking time out with their biggest fans. Team captain David Beckham was snapped out in about in Paris with wife Victoria, as they indulged in a little retail therapy, while striker Wayne Rooney was sitting side by side with girlfriend Colleen McLoughlin as they watched his team Manchester United take on Celtic.

The England skipper was looking characteristically stylish in a pinstripe Armani jacket, Ozwald Boateng shirt and Dolce & Gabbana jeans as he browsed the goodies on offer in one of the French capital's exclusive boutiques. And his glamorous wife was also turning heads with her Roland Mouret button-down shirt dress and Christian Louboutin heels. The mum-of-three accessorised her elegant ensemble with a Hermes handbag and a pair of her trademark oversize Gucci sunglasses.

Back home in Britain, meanwhile, Wayne and Colleen had opted for rather more casual attire. The 20-year-old, who broke his right foot in a recent match against Chelsea, is currently resting up in the hope he will recover in time to compete in the forthcoming tournament.

Football fans up and down the country will have been glad to see the cast has already been removed from his injured foot. And his team-mate and mentor David is among the millions of people anxious to see him back on form. "We have all got to stay positive," said Becks. "I know he will stay positive and that is the most important thing. We need Wayne Rooney as you want your best players in the team."
