Housewives show why they're TV sweethearts

The ladies of Wisteria Lane put in a typically fashionable appearance in the Big Apple this Wednesday. Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman and gang were there to help promote TV network ABC's autumn schedule.

Dressed in pretty summer frocks and wearing their hair in shiny, loose curls, the actresses looked as youthful and glamorous as ever - showing just why they are the leading ladies at ABC, the network that airs their hit programme Desperate Housewives. Nicolette Sheridan, who plays Edie in the cult programme, wore a pristine white shirt dress and accessorised with her fiancé Michael Bolton. While Eva Longoria, AKA Gabrielle, looked groomed and unruffled despite dashing down the pavement in her high heels to join her co-stars in time for a photo-call.

Stars of ABC's other ratings winner, Lost were also at the New York event including hunky Matthew Fox, who plays Dr Jack Shephard, and Jorge Garcia, the man who brings Hugo 'Hurley' Reves to life.

As well as highlighting the hugely anticipated next series of their two top shows, ABC executives were announcing new projects. Marking her return to TV, Ally McBeal actress Calista Flockhart was there to hear the announcement relating to her show Brothers & Sisters in which she plays an outspoken radio personality swept up in a wave of family drama.
