One of Britain's favourite couples may soon be going their separate ways after rumours surfaced that the romance between Hugh Grant and Jemima Khan had hit troubled waters.
According to newspaper reports, the mother-of-two has become increasingly frustrated with her partner's unwillingness to make a permanent commitment and his continuing close friendship with former love Liz Hurley. An article published in the Daily Mail quotes the heiress as saying "I can't go on living like this" during a recent telephone conversation with the actor.
The newspaper also claims the pair have scrapped plans to live together in the £18 million mansion she recently bought in Chelsea, while his movie career, which has required him to spend increasing amounts of time in the US, has put further strain on the relationship.
A friend of the couple told the publication there seemed to be little hope for their high-profile romance: "It's very sad. They are apart and this really looks as if it could be the end. Jemima's had enough of Hugh not committing. She can only put up with so much. She still loves him but he's just like the ageing bachelor character he plays in About A Boy."
