After hanging out with a plumber on Wisteria Lane Teri Hatcher couldn't resist the opportunity to rub shoulders with someone of royal pedigree. The Desperate Housewife met up with King Juan Carlos of Spain at a gala dinner in Barcelona ahead of the Laureus Sports Awards on Monday evening.
It was a return visit to Iberia for 41-year-old Teri, who attended last year's shindig in Portugal alongside the Spanish monarch. After the extravaganza the actress joked: "I was doing a little hobnobbing with His Majesty."
For this year's royal appointment she'd ditched the jeans and T-shirt of her on-screen character for a stunning sequined cocktail dress, teamed with gold accessories.
Also on hand for the glitzy reception were Boris Becker, who cut a dash in a silver suit with his hair slicked back, and Olympic athlete Daley Thompson. He posed on the red carpet with paralympic gold medallist Tanni Grey-Thompson.
Desperate Housewives star Teri and Cuba Gooding Jr are the hosts of Monday night's awards ceremony, which will be broadcast to 195 countries. The impressive guest list is also set to include Crown Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia, as well as Hollywood heavyweight Morgan Freeman.
