Riding high on the waves of critical acclaim following his performance alongside Felicity Huffman in Transamerica, Kevin Zegers added a further jewel to his crown when he scooped the Chopard Award at Cannes.
Presented to best up-and-coming young actor, the glittering trophy - shaped like a reel of film but a lot more sparkly – was handed over to the 21-year-old Canadian by Sir Elton John at the jewellery house's glitzy party.
The flamboyant musician, renowned for his short fuse when photographers are around, paid tribute to Kevin as a "huge star" of the future, before having a snap at the snappers when the flashbulbs started popping.
But after he'd presented the trophy to the grinning actor, it was all smiles for the photo line-up. And, since where glamour is, there we find Elizabeth Hurley, the model and producer was happy to pose for the cameras along with Kevin and Sir Elton's partner, David Furnish - a fellow Canadian and fellow producer.
Receiving the Chopard Award for best female revelation was Italian actress Jasmine Trinca, ravishing in a ruffled scarlet dress topped and tailed with long earrings and high heels.
