With beauties such as Penelope Cruz and Lancome model Ines Sastres hailing from Spain, the country's señoritas enjoy something of a reputation for glamour. But even they might have felt overshadowed as some of the world's most gorgeous women, headed by mother and daughter fashion team Jerry Hall and Lizzy Jagger, descended on the city of Madrid.

The two ladies were in the Spanish capital as up-market fashion brand Loewe threw open its doors to a host of beautiful people.

And the statuesque Texan has obviously been passing on tips to her offspring, as both had chosen classically elegant designs in satin. Jerry was in dusky rose, while Lizzy opted for dove grey - although the 22-year-old put her own stamp on the outfit by accessorising with a pair of cute electric-blue peep-toe sandals.

Linda Evangelista had also decided shimmering elegance was the way to go, arriving in a voluminous pale gold creation. Meanwhile Yasmin Le Bon brought a touch of ice-cool allure to the sultry summer evening in a white shift, teamed with shocking pink stilettos.

Also on hand to savour Spanish hospitality was screen goddess Catherine Deneuve, who was sophisticated as always in a ruched and ruffled chocolate number.
