Nicole Kidman and Sadie Frost have both celebrated their birthdays with a dose of floral fun. While the Aussie actress received huge bouquets outside her Sydney home, Jude's ex was taking it one step further with a flower-power themed bash in London.

Oscar winner Nicole turned 39 on Tuesday in low-key fashion ahead of her widely anticipated wedding to Keith Urban this weekend. Asked how she planned to spend the day, the bride-to-be replied: "Not much, dinner at home with mum – boring." She emerged from her harbourside house in a warm black coat to be greeted by a rousing rendition of "Happy Birthday" from the assembled crowd of reporters and photographers.

"Thank you for the flowers and the singing," she said, before posing for photographs. The thoughtful actress even sent bottles of water and beer out to the assembled media with a note saying "Enjoy! Nicole and Keith".

The previous day, TV producer Sadie marked her 41st birthday in London with a "Frostenbury" party - dubbed as North London's version of Glastonbury. The Primrose Hill set turned out in force to help the petite designer blow out the candles in sixties groove at her home.

Comedians Jimmy Carr, David Walliams and close friend Meg Matthews were among the guests, with Noel Gallagher's former wife making the most effort to get into the spirit of things with her festival-style bikini top, flowing hippy skirt, oversized shades and beaded necklace.
