An emotional Kylie Minogue has revealed her first reaction to the moment she was diagnosed as having breast cancer in a TV documentary to be screened later this month. "The moment my doctor told me, I went silent," she says. "My mum and dad were with me. Then we all fell to pieces."
The former Neighbours actress, who was being interviewed by Cat Deeley for a documentary on Sky, was told by doctors she had cancer last May and has since undergone a partial mastectomy and months of grueling chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
Currently convalescing, she praised her parents and sister Dannii for their love and support and fought back tears during the one-hour interview as she thanked French boyfriend Olivier Martinez for standing by her.
Revealing a new image, the 38-year-old Aussie singer showed off a cute blonde hairstyle and looked radiant as she told Cat she was feeling "good" after her treatment. "I'm taking it slowly. You know, baby steps. We're talking one step at a time. It's early days and I'm not sure what shape things are going to take yet."
She has recently returned to the recording studio to work on a new album and is already said to be in talks to headline at next summer's Glastonbury festival. The popular songstress also delighted fans when she recently made a short cameo appearance at the end of her sister's gig at the Astoria nightclub in London's West End.
Kylie: The Interview will be broadcast on Sky One at 9pm on Sunday, July 16.
