Despite being new parents, Rod Stewart and Penny Lancaster looked like they're having no trouble burning the midnight oil as they attended the Berkeley Square Ball on Thursday night. The soon-to-be-married pair, who were also at Sir David Frost's summer party this week, partied along with the 750-strong crowd at the annual event – one of the most glittering on the British social calendar.

Model Penny was clearly in summery mood as she stepped out for the charity ball in a floral strapless dress that showed off her golden tan and famously long legs. As the couple get closer to tying the knot, she only had eyes for her rocker fiancé as she affectionately kissed and hugged him during the sit-down dinner.

England cricketer Andrew Flintoff, his wife Rachael and Harry Potter actor David Thewlis were also among the revellers at the bash who were entertained with music from singer James Brown and soul group The Drifters. Meanwhile, former EastEnders star Michelle Ryan, added Hollywood glitz to the London bash in aid of the Prince's Trust, donning an ivory satin cocktail dress that flattered her stunning figure.

There to provide A-list credentials to the glitzy affair, was Tinseltown starlet Mischa Barton. The London-born beauty's elegant nude-colour frock was a far cry from her appearance earlier in the day when she donned a wig and football kit to impersonate Portuguese soccer star Ronaldo for Channel 4's new comedy show The Friday Night Project.
