Despite the scorching summer temperatures in Manhattan, pop princess Nelly Furtado was the epitome of cool as she enjoyed a night out on the town in the Big Apple on Monday.
Chic in a sheer T-shirt matched with black cigarette jeans and gold pumps the talented Canadian mum – she has a two-and-a–half-year-old daughter, Nevis - was in Manhattan to record an appearance on the David Letterman show the following day.
Explaining the new, more sultry image that has replaced the neo hippie look she has favoured in the past, the pretty star says: "I think it really took childbirth and becoming a mother to accept my body and womanhood a bit more."
This is a busy time for the Victoria–born chanteuse, who is caught up in the promotional whirl for her latest album Loose, tracks from which are topping the charts on both sides of the pond – Promiscuous in the US and Maneater in the UK.
Having recently been dubbed 'Most Fun And Fearless Female' by a women's glossy magazine, the proud Portuguese-Canadian singer lived up to her title with a sizzling performance at the Calgary Stampede on Saturday, then it was off to the Big Apple for her onscreen date with the talk-show host at the start of the week.
And no sooner had she finished taping the popular US show than she was heading back to Canada where she was scheduled to take to the stage on Wednesday as part of the Ottawa Bluesfest.
