It wasn't hard to spot Kiefer Sutherland on Wednesday as he donned one of summer's biggest trends. The Canadian actor stood out a mile in his blue and white polka-dot tie as he arrived to present a gong at a sports awards ceremony in Hollywood.
Carrying off his dotty sartorial style with aplomb, the 39-year-old was in high spirits as he arrived on the red carpet. He has plenty to be happy about, of course, after learning his award-winning drama series 24, in which he plays Jack Bauer, has been commissioned for a sixth series.
Kiefer joined fellow award presenters Matthew McConaughey, Carmen Electra and Janet Jackson at the ESPY event celebrating excellence in sports performance. Among the night's winners were cyclist Lance Armstrong who also co-hosted this year's ceremony. The 39-year-old was named best male athlete after taking first place in the Tour de France for a record seventh consecutive time last year before announcing his retirement.
Other stars of the sporting world who were celebrating at the Kodak Theatre included Venus Williams, named best female tennis player, Tiger Woods who was pronounced top golfer and Brazilian Ronaldhino who took the title for best footballer.
