Jack and Lionel on summer outings with their daughters

For famous dad Jack Nicholson, spending time with his daughter is clearly as 'good as it gets'. The Oscar-winner was in high spirits as he and 16-year-old Lorraine enjoyed an afternoon of shopping in Saint Tropez where they are holidaying.

The 69-year-old was clearly relaxed in the company of his teenage girl - who is set to follow in her dad's thespian footsteps after making a cameo appearance in Adam Sandler's latest comedy Click. Lorraine, whose mother is actress Rebecca Broussard, looked ultra summery in a short white dress and oversize shades. She had apparently been exploring the local shops, leaving gentlemanly Jack to carry her purchases.

The pair are sharing their Riviera sojourn with Lara Flynn Boyle, the American actress who dated the star for two years between 1999 and 2001. Their appearance together has re-ignited reports they have revived their relationship, but the Something's Got To Give star was only concerned with one lady's happiness on Wednesday as he spent the afternoon with Lorraine.

Meanwhile, back in Beverly Hills another well-known dad was treating his girl, too. Lionel Richie and adopted daughter Nicole found space in their busy schedules for some quality father-daughter time and stepped out for dinner together. The duo, who are famously close, were all smiles as Lionel put a protective arm around the Simple Life personality's shoulders while leaving the Hollywood eatery. Nicole was stylish as ever, and her dad had clearly made an effort to look trendy, too, in a pair of this season's toe-hold sandals and a man-bag slung over his shoulder.
