Judging by Carol Vorderman's latest performance on Countdown, the audience might be forgiven for thinking her famed IQ had slipped a few notches when she spelt out "I Luv You". But it was all just high jinks as she filmed a spoof sketch for Channel 4's comedy show The Friday Night Project.
The fun-loving presenter was clearly getting into the spirit of things as she received a piggy-back ride from the show's regular host Justin Lee Collins. And the glamorous 45-year-old also came in for some flattering from Justin who declared "You are stunning".
In a recent interview with The Radio Times Justin revealed he had a crush on the super-bright star, "for me, Carol Vorderman is the Holy Grail of guest hosts for The Friday Night Project. I've been an admirer of Carol's for many years and I'm actually in love with her." Sadly for Justin, however, Carol - a mum of two - is happily settled with long-term boyfriend and newspaper columnist Des Kelly.
During the show, which is being screened on August 11 at 10.30pm, the Welsh-born mathematical whizz takes part in a series of comedy sketches and reveals a few inside secrets about life behind-the-scenes of her popular long-running programme – including the fact she has never sat in Des Lynam's coveted hosting chair. She also gave Justin and his co-host Alan Carr a crash course in how to posture themselves during Countdown's 30-minute deliberation period.
