The celebrity baby boom continues apace after Take That star Mark Owen became father to a baby boy on Saturday and Diddy announced he is expecting a second child with girlfriend Kim Porter.
Pop singer Mark, 34, has joined his bandmates Gary Barlow and Howard Donald, who have two children each, by becoming a dad after his partner Emma Ferguson gave birth to their son Elwood Jack Owen. "Both mother and baby are in great health," said a spokeswoman. Their bundle of joy, who weighed in two weeks overdue at 9lbs 2oz, is the first child for the couple who have been together for two years.
Emma, an actress who has appeared in TV series including The Bill and Doctors, found out she was pregnant just as Mark's boy-band Take That reunited. The group, which found fame in the 90s, recently finished a sell-out reunion tour – without former member Robbie Williams – and are now working on their first album in more than a decade.
Meanwhile Diddy has revealed he is expecting the patter of tiny feet with long-term girlfriend Kim Porter. It will be the second child for the glamorous duo who already have an eight-year-old son Christian. "The couple is thrilled about the news" said their representative. The newcomer will add to the rapper's growing family – he also has a son Justin, 12, with fashion stylist Misa Hylton-Brim while Kim has a son, Quincy, 13 with R&B singer Al B. Sure.
The 36-year-old millionaire performer first began dating Kim in the nineties and after a split in 1999, during which he went out with Jennifer Lopez, he got back together with her in 2003. Despite his fabulous lifestyle and successful career, he is clear that his priorities lie at home. "God put me on Earth to be a father" revealed the hip hop mogul last year. "It's a bigger blessing than any award, than anything in music, any amount of money."
