Movie premieres and showbiz parties obviously aren't the only events that can tempt the silver screen's big names to step out in public. Several of the movie industry's most popular performers decided to take in some rather more energetic entertainment by going along to high-profile sporting events on Monday.
Critically acclaimed actress Holly Hunter was looking positively radiant when she arrived for the opening ceremony of the US Open in New York. The diminutive Oscar winner, who is best known for playing gritty, down-to-earth roles, showed a more glamorous side to her persona when she made her entrance in a white striped trouser suit accessorised with large hoop earrings.
Louisiana-born actor Jared Leto opted for a somewhat more grungy image when he rolled up to the Mercedes-Benz Polo challenge in the Hamptons, however. The 34-year-old, who was once engaged to Cameron Diaz, went for a distinctly rock and roll look with a black leather jacket over his black shirt and matching denim jeans. And the handsome performer is fast learning the ropes of the music industry, having recently completed his first headlining tour with his band 30 Seconds To Mars.
Across the country in California, meanwhile, celluloid siren Sharon Stone had likewise opted for a black ensemble. The 48-year-old, who was guest of honour at the Elisabeth Glaser Aids Foundation's celebrity golf tournament, was looking somewhat more feminine, though, in a fitted Ralph Lauren minidress.
