Postman Pat doesn't encounter many famous faces when he's making his rounds in the town of Greendale, but he found himself keeping rather more glamorous company when he made a trip to the big smoke at the weekend. Indeed the popular cartoon character was congratulated by a series of showbiz stars and their children when he celebrated his 25th anniversary in London's Kensington Roof Gardens.
Rod Stewart's wife-to-be Penny Lancaster was among the first to salute the dedicated postman for his quarter century. The statuesque model brought her baby boy Alastair and several other members of her family along to meet the small screen favourite. And Scottish actor John Hannah also had his hands full with his twins Gabriel and Astrid.
Charlie Brooks, who TV fans will recognise as Janine from EastEnders, was meanwhile accompanied by her daughter Kiki. The little girl was looking nearly as colourful as Pat himself after she and her mum indulged in a spot of face painting.
While several of Britain's favourite celebs were enjoying quality time with their children at Pat's party, TV presenter Tess Daly was taking time out of her busy schedule to help some less fortunate youngsters. The mum-of-one met up with a group of homeless minors when she launched a new charity drive aiming to provide shelter for the impoverished juveniles.
