There was no disguising the love between Hugh Grant and Jemima Khan when they turned out for a glitzy A-list bash in London this week. The 32-year-old heiress was photographed smiling warmly and sitting in her leading man's lap as they chatted to friends in Annabel's nightclub - which is named after her mum - on Thursday.
Britain's favourite society couple put paid to recent reports that their relationship was in trouble as they attended a launch party for a new new book, Copper: A Dog's Life, by Jemima's mother. The work takes a wry look at the well-to-do social circles of Richmond and Kingston through the eyes of a friendly pooch.
Familiar faces on the West London party circuit, Hugh and Jemima are not averse to immersing themselves in less glamorous environments from time to time. Sir James Goldsmith's pretty daughter, who is well known for her charity work, recently took her film star beau to Nairobi in Kenya so he could witness the poverty she campaigns against. "It's difficult to care if you don't see it first-hand," explained the mum of two afterwards.
And it would appear the actor's famous sense of humour is beginning to rub off on his girlfriend as well. Asked how she always manages to look so chic, the hardworking UN ambassador said: "I have a very good and attentive stylist - and her name is Hugh!"
