Bonneville's Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates and Joan Allen seemed to be having as much fun together off-screen as they did on-screen when they attended the drama's world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival on Monday night.

According to Kathy the trio of leading ladies got on famously on set and have stayed in touch ever since. And having met up with Jessica when they attended a Lincoln Center Film Society tribute honouring her in April, Kathy and Joan were clearly keen to continue pick up where they left off with their former co-star at the Toronto event.

In the character-driven saga about friendship, the group of friends hit the road in a vintage Bonneville convertible to deliver the ashes of Jessica's character's dead husband to his resentful daughter.

Despite, the film's less-than-happy premise, making the flick was apparently the most moviemaking fun Jessica's had in a decade. "It was the first film in I can't tell you how long that was actually a joy to do," she says. And the rapport between its stars clearly contributed to the pleasure. "There was this collective energy between Kathy Bates and Joan Allen and me," the Oscar-winning actress explains. "The way it just fell into place and ended up being the three of us was perfect."
