Her name has become a byword for versatility but Victoria Beckham surpassed herself with three striking sartorial changes in the space of 24 hours on Monday. The wardrobe wizardry came during a series of appearances in New York to coincide with the hottest date in the city's fashion calendar - the unveiling of the spring collections.
While the main action should have been on the catwalks, as one accomplished in the art of stealing the limelight the former Spice Girl made sure she garnered her share of column inches, too.
In the morning Mrs Beckham stepped out in a neatly tailored Mary Quant-style shirtdress teamed with opaque tights, smart black shoes and giant shades. The look borrowed heavily from Sixties icon Twiggy. Known for her fondness for seductive lingerie, the football wife was on her way to browse through the latest goodies on offer at the Victoria's Secret store in Manhattan.
Later, at the Marc Jacobs show, Posh took her bid to vie with the catwalk models one step further, striking a pose in a crisp white cotton shirt, open to the navel and wide-legged trousers. Her tiny waist was spanned by an outsize leather belt.
The 32-year-old singer-turned-designer, who's just launched a book of her style tips, finished off the day in a tartan-print pencil skirt. Always one to add her own personal twist to individualize an outfit, Victoria had accessorised with a pair of gothic black leather gloves.
