Almost a year to the day after giving birth to Sean Preston, Britney Spears has presented her son with a little playmate. According to US media reports, the superstar singer and husband Kevin Federline welcomed another baby boy into the world in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
The 6lb 11oz child was delivered at a Los Angeles hospital shortly before 2am via a scheduled caesarean section. "Kevin had a smile on his face," commented an onlooker. "He looked happy and upbeat."
September has become the month for festivities in the Spears/Federline home. The couple wed two years ago on September 18 and the new arrival has made his debut just in time for Sean's first birthday party on Thursday.
Britney has revealed she never planned to get pregnant again so quickly, but predicted childbirth would "be a piece of cake". The Toxic singer had become so laid back about the prospect of an addition to her family in the last few months she was able to turn her attention back to her career. A new "fun, upbeat and sexy" album should hit stores next year and then the 24-year-old performer plans to take her two pop princes on the road with her.
