Britain's favourite TV stars swapped the grey skies of Weatherfield and Walford for a glitzy night out in Soho when they attended the Inside Soap Awards on Monday. The long-running rivalry between EastEnders and Coronation Street seemed to be forgotten for the evening as the two series took equal shares of the glory with six trophies each.
'Corrie' wideboy Bradley Walsh said he was "thrilled to bits" after his portrayal of love rat Danny Baldwin earned him the best actor trophy. And his co-star Helen Worth, who has been negotiating the challenges of life in 'the Street' for over three decades, was equally delighted with her outstanding achievement award. "I've loved all 32 years of it," she said. "That I've managed to survive so long, I think, is an achievement in itself."
EastEnders favourite Lacey Turner, who is better known as Stacey Slater, was named best actress, while her co-star Charlie Clements was likewise honoured as best newcomer.
The sexiest male gong meanwhile went to Weatherfield teenager Richard Fleeshman. But it was Albert Square bombshell Kara Tointon, stunning in a strapless green gown, who took home the gong for sexiest female.
She wasn't the only small screen bombshell setting pulses racing at the ceremony, however, as Emmerdale star Adele Silva was also on sizzling form in a sparkling gold number.
