Business tycoon Richard Branson has been hitting the headlines again this week after he unveiled his new commercial space ship. The headline-friendly impresario proved his real passion was for the rather more down-to-earth pursuit of being a loving dad when he stepped out in New York with his son Sam, though.
The bearded celeb was photographed hugging the 21-year-old before he made an appearance on The Late Show With David Letterman. And when asked whether his guitar-playing heir might one day take over the reigns of his empire, Sir Richard said he wanted only for him to follow his own desires and be happy.
"I have two lovely children, but I have never been a great believer in children taking over," explained the charismatic billionaire. "Sam's a musician and he doesn't have a lot of interest in all that just yet."
Britain's favourite entrepreneur wasn't the only one espousing the joys of family life on the US talk show. When Tinseltown actress Amanda Peet appeared on the programme earlier this week she used her interview to announce she is pregnant. The pretty brunette, who is four months along, will tie the knot with her screenwriter fiancé David Benioff over the weekend.
