While recent reports had it that on-off couple Ryan Reynolds and Alanis Morissette had called off their engagement a few months ago, the couple appeared to be definitely 'on' again as they shopped together in New York.
The Ottawa-born chanteuse was in the Big Apple to spend time with her statuesque beau, who's there shooting an as-yet untitled flick. And while 32-year-old Alanis wasn't wearing the engagement ring she received from Ryan in June 2004, the pair were clearly an item as they strolled through the streets of the trendy Soho district this week.
Indeed Just Friends actor Ryan, who turns 30 later this month, recently confirmed that things are going well for the pair at the moment, saying: "Our relationship couldn't be better."
It's a busy time for the 6ft 2in, Vancouver-born thesp, who currently has five projects on the go. The most recent addition to his packed agenda is big screen drama Definitely Maybe, in which he is set to star opposite British actress Rachel Weisz and Isla Fisher as a political consultant faced with explaining his impending divorce to his 11-year-old daughter.
Ryan's diminutive partner is also enjoying being in demand. With several of her songs featured on movie soundtracks of late - including The Devil Wears Prada and The Break-Up - this autumn Alanis is consolidating her acting career with appearances in three episodes of Golden Globe-winning drama Nip/Tuck.
