While spring is typically the season for romance, love was clearly blooming this autumn, too, as some of Canada’s hottest celebrity couples attended galas this week.
Platinum-selling Canadian crooner Michael Buble and his girlfriend of two years Emily Blunt couldn't have looked happier as they attended a benefit concert together in Las Vegas. The Devil Wears Prada actress says she usually gets nervous at such star-studded events, but her 31-year-old love has helped her approach high-profile appearances in a completely different way.
"I remember at the New York premiere of Prada the limo pulled up and I was sweating and panicking. And Michael gave me great advice," says the 23-year-old. "He said: 'Calm down and become someone else – someone who's good at doing the red carpet'."
Also looking loved up at the charity bash, which raised US$8.6 million for the Andre Agassi foundation, was Halifax-born chanteuse Sarah McLachlan and her husband, Ashwin Sood. The singer, who tied the knot with her music producer spouse in 1997, was among the artists performing on the night.
Meanwhile Jason Priestley and his stunning British make-up artist wife Naomi were also all smiles as they stepped out on the red carpet in California. The Beverly Hills 90210 star and his bride of a year and a half jetted in from New York - where the British Columbia-born actor is currently working on his new film – to attend the premiere of Clint Eastwood's latest directorial oeuvre Flags Of Our Fathers.
