Reconciled pals Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie continued to catch up on lost time this week as they met up for a shopping trip in LA. And Paris has wasted no time in telling everyone how happy she is that her old friend is back in her life.
Paris' publicist had been only tentative in affirming the fashionable duo had made up after a rift of more than a year. But the hotel heiress told a US magazine: "I love Nicole, and I'm so glad we're friends again. I missed her, she's like my sister - we've known each other for 23 years. I'm glad we can put the feud behind us."
Neither of the 25-year-old gal pals has ever given a reason as to why they fell out. The producer of the pair's hit reality show has indicated that fans will get to know more about what happened, however, saying that the new series delves into "what led to the breakdown in the friendship and maybe some of the misunderstandings that got in the way."
The reunited chums enjoyed dinner together at a West Hollywood restaurant on Monday then teamed up again the next day at a record shop, both sporting trademark supersize sunglasses in girlie pink. Their renewed rapport makes life a whole lot simpler for both girls who since their tiff have avoided each other at public events.
And the thaw in relations comes just in time, as filming on the fifth Simple Life series begins next month. They were initially going to shoot their parts separately but will now appear side by side.
