The residents of Copenhagen were treated to a night of spectacular performances when a roll-call of the music industry's brightest lights jetted in for this year's MTV Europe Music Awards.
Canadian chanteuse Nelly Furtado, whose arms were covered in intricate henna tattoos, made an impression on the 3,000-strong crowd when she took to the stage in a shimmering silver gown. And Barbados-born beauty Rihanna, who picked up the trophy for best R&B artist, was also on sizzling form when her turn came to strut her stuff.
Denmark's capital city fell under the spell of a heady dose of Southern charm when Justin Timberlake stepped up to the podium, however. The performer, who originally hails from Memphis, Tennessee, jetted in to host the prizegiving ceremony, but wound up taking home two of the main trophies himself.
Afterwards the SexyBack singer, who won out in the best male and best pop categories, joked that he'd only been given awards because he agreed to present the annual event. And that wasn't the only moment when laughter echoed around the Bella Centre auditorium, as British comedian Avid Merrion performed an outrageous parody of Madonna's hit single Hung Up.
New James Bond, Daniel Craig, was cutting a rather more suave dash. The hunky actor seemed to be getting on well with the equally well-groomed Diddy when they met up backstage. No doubt the American rapper, who once expressed an interest in playing 007, was eager to discuss the super spy role. Among the other famous faces turning heads at the ceremony was Oscar-Winner Adrien Brody, whose Spanish girlfriend Elsa Pataky sent temperatures soaring in a sexy backless number.
