Vancouver rolled out the red carpet for one of its most famous stars, Evangeline Lilly, as well as a host of other homegrown Canadian talent at the annual Gemini Awards over the weekend. The glamorous event, which has previously been hosted in Toronto, attracted some of the biggest names in TV.
The Lost beauty, who exuded A-list glamour in a beautiful metallic gown, was joined by The Santa Clause 3 actress Wendy Crewson - equally elegant in dramatic purple - at the star-studded ceremony. The Winnipeg-born actress took home one of the coveted brass-cut statues for her role as the wife of Canadian football hero Terry Evanshen in The Man Who Lost Himself.
They were entertained on the night by Lukas Rossi, the Canadian-born winner of Rock Star: Supernova who gave his first Canadian performance along with fellow band-mate Gilby Clarke, while X-Men's Shawn Ashmore did the presenting honours alongside soap star Tonya Lee Williams.
Among the night's big winners were acclaimed series Slings And Arrows, which scooped an impressive tally of six Gemini awards, and Donald Sutherland's mini-series Human Trafficking which won the nod for best dramatic mini-series.
