She's never quite been able to shake the Baby Spice tag, but now aged 30 Emma Bunton seemed perfectly content to be back in the nursery with some excited tots this week. The former Spice Girl visited the kiddies centre in North London on behalf of Children In Need.

She was there to see how money raised by the charity is being put to use in the music box scheme, which gives youngsters the opportunity to learn and develop through music. "It was brilliant to see them expressing themselves, their little characters really came through and you can see how it helps them build confidence and brings them great joy," she said.

The bubbly blonde joined the youngsters in the play session and brought smiles to their faces with her bell-jiggling. Currently impressing audiences with her fancy footwork on ITV's Strictly Come Dancing, the singer-turned-radio presenter has also just launched her new single - a cover of Petula Clark's Downtown.

The Sixties classic is being released as this year's official Children In Need single and Emma will perform the song on the BBC's Children In Need night on November 17. The track hit stores the same day as that of her boyfriend Jade Jones, who recorded debut single Kushti with his new band Cherry Black-Stone.

"He cooks me dinner every night because I'm so busy right now," says Emma, who has been with her beau for eight years. And she could be about to get busier.

Australian newspapers are reporting the pretty star is set to feature in a series of episodes of Neighbours currently being filmed in London. Other UK-based celebs tipped to appear in the popular Aussie soap are talk show host Michael Parkinson, comedian Julian Clary and DJ Jonathon Coleman.
