Busy Beyonce showed she has the head-turning wardrobe to match her award-winning voice as she buzzed around the Big Apple promoting her new film Dreamgirls.
The 25-year-old star looked pretty as a picture in a pale butter-coloured gown sprinkled with sequinned daisies when she performed songs from the soundtrack of the film on the Today Show. She went on up the glamour factor for the evening's film premiere, changing into a floor-sweeping beige Elie Saab gown, accessorised with a stunning collection of diamonds.
The bootylicious singer worked hard to prepare for the film, which stands to make her the highest paid black actress in Hollywood. "They told me they were doing this movie and I said, 'Oh my God, I have to be in it'. At first they weren't sure if I could play the part because I haven't done anything like it on film - but I knew that I could do it," she says.
Critics expect the musical, a lightly fictionalised history of the 1960s singing group Diana Ross and the Supremes, to pick up a series of Oscar nominations after its release in the United States this month.
