Daniel Radcliffe is, it seems, something of a financial wizard. The Harry Potter star's onscreen career has had a magical effect on his bank balance this year, making him the youngest person to appear on the Sunday Times Magazine's Rich List.
With the help of the Harry Potter film series, 17-year-old Daniel has conjured up a personal fortune of £14 million. And with a fifth film due out next year, the young star's magic touch looks set to continue. "He is still at school, but is in a position where he will never have to work again," said Philip Beresford, who compiled the list. "If he wants to go to university, we can safely say that he won't have to worry about a student loan."
The youngest woman to make the grade this year is soul sensation Joss Stone, worth a reported £6 million at the age of 19. The chanteuse has made her fortune from two hit albums and a brief modelling stint for Gap. A cameo appearance in Eragon, alongside John Malkovich and Robert Carlyle, could also open the door to a more lucrative film career.
Top of the list is steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal, with Russian tycoon Roman Abramovich coming a close second with a personal fortune of £10.8 billion.
David and Victoria Beckham top the list of richest footballing couples, with an estimated fortune of £87 million. However, Wayne Rooney is hot on the Becks' heels with a cool £20 million in the bank.
