Fortunately for his gorgeous fiancée Isla Fisher, comedian Sacha Baron Cohen spared the Wedding Crashers actress' blushes this week and decided not to walk the red carpet with her in one of his outrageous Borat guises - which include a lycra thong swimsuit.
The pair were in London on Wednesday evening for the British Comedy Awards, where Sacha and his writing team picked up the Ronnie Barker Award for Borat. Ali G star Sacha, whose film has so far made over £100 million at the box office worldwide, won the biggest applause of the night as he was presented the gong by Madonna.
Other winners included former classical singer-turned-TV presenter Charlotte Church, who was honoured as best female comedy newcomer for her The Charlotte Church Show and Russell Brand as best male newcomer. Little Britain duo David Walliams and Matt Lucas also didn't leave empty handed - receiving an award for best stage comedy.
Courtney Love, who has lived in the capital before and recently revealed she thinks of herself as half English, was among the celebrities celebrating some of the UK's best homegrown comic talent. Myleene Klass, Nigella Lawson and Tamzin Outhwaite also stepped out for the glitzy event.
