Hollywood has always celebrated youthful beauty, so it comes as no surprise that a stunning trio of starlets just out of their teens caused a stir as they descended on a Los Angeles children's charity gala.
Lindsay Lohan, Mary-Kate Olsen and Mischa Barton - all aged 20 - showed they were a force to be reckoned with in the fashion stakes as they hit all the right notes at the exclusive party. The three girls were turning heads in glamorous designs by Dolce and Gabbana, the fashion label hosting the party at the famed Chateau Marmont hotel.
Mischa, who put her best foot forward in killer leopard-print heels at the star-studded bash, opted for a thigh-skimming halter-neck number straight off the spring runway. "We switched tonight," she said, arriving with her stylist Rachel Zoe. "Rachel’s wearing a vintage-y Twenties number, which is my look, and I’m wearing glamourama."
The party kicked off with a preview of four elegant Dolce and Gabbana gowns made for Penelope Cruz, which are to be auctioned off over the internet in aid of the charity to benefit disadvantaged children. They include the strapless chiffon number the actress wore on the red carpet for a screening of Bandidas, and a white, corseted gown designed specially for her appearance at the Volver premiere.
The glittering event attracted a host of stars wearing striking creations by the Italian design duo, including Sharon Stone, Eva Longoria and Jessica Biel. And Penelope's close friend Salma Hayek sang the praises of the fashion team. "If Dolce and Gabbana can make all these people and their various physiques look this glamorous, and this different from each other, and this sexy - well honey, I'm in."
