It seems some Spice Girl-style girl power might come in handy for Melanie Brown as she prepares for a court battle with former boyfriend Eddie Murphy.
The former Scary Spice won't be going it alone, though, as she's hired top showbiz lawyer Don Engel - who charges $500 an hour and has previously represented Cher and Meatloaf - to help fight her cause.
Mel is apparently set on securing child support for her unborn baby after the 45-year-old Beverly Hills Cop star told a Dutch TV crew they were no longer an item and demanded a paternity test to prove he is the child's father.
After six months with the famous funnyman it was a humiliating moment for mum-of-one Melanie, who had been expecting to spend Christmas together.
Insiders say Yorkshire-born Mel could be eligible for as much as $15 million from the actor who is reportedly now dating film producer Tracey Edmonds.
"Mel is refusing to lie down and let Eddie walk all over her - and this is reflected in her choice if lawyer," a source close to the singer told a British newspaper. "She wants to hit him where it hurts… in the pocket and they don't come much better than Don."
